Our Story

The Carter Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity founded in 2019 by Duane and Lynn Carter. The original purpose of the Foundation was to establish a legacy of generosity and Christian charity in the Carter family ~ but God had much bigger plans! He has placed a burning desire on the Carters’ hearts to do more for His Kingdom. In response, the family is working to expand the reach of the Foundation by developing partnerships, recruiting ambassadors and intentionally raising funds for targeted mission fields.

100% of all charitable donations are distributed to the mission field. All corporate officers, directors and ambassadors of the Foundation serve on a voluntary basis. We have no paid staff. Each adult member of the Carter family contributes annually to the Foundation’s operating budget to cover expenses.

Preserve and promote every person’s God-given right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness through education, rescue and rehabilitation, child protection, evangelism and missions.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

L.I.G.H.T. guides our conduct and relationships, and defines us as an organization.
When put into action, these five guiding principles combine to create a Christlike
culture that advances our vision and mission.

Loving

Treat everyone with compassion, dignity, honesty and respect. Utilize every gift available in the body of Christ by welcoming different experiences, perspectives, knowledge and skills.

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

INDOMITABLE

Tirelessly pursue opportunities to help those in need. Attract, motivate and empower apprentices of Jesus, forging an unstoppable force for the advancement of His kingdom.

Then I heard the voice of the LORD saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

GENEROUS

Give generously in time, talent and treasure. Be attentive to divine appointments. Cultivate opportunities to grow financial resources, partnerships and ambassadors to enable broader reach.

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

HUMBLE

Be authentic and courageous. Practice servant leadership, an unwavering commitment to Christlike concern for others. Be alert and prepared for the enemy’s attacks. Soli Deo gloria ~ Glory to God alone.

And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

TRUSTWORTHY
